Contract Testing

SciMed Contract Testing offers the followoing Services. Please click on the service of interest for more details:

SciMed in association with Fauske and Associates, world leaders in the field of process safety testing, are pleased to be able to provide a one stop shop for all your process safety testing requirements. Founded in 1980, Fauske assumed early and key leadership roles in the acclaimed DIERS program for AIChE and these activities led to state-of-the-art methodology and laboratory tools for characterizing chemical systems. Today the collaboration between SciMed and Fauske has resulted in the ability to provide solutions to many of your reactive chemistry and explosivity testing needs. Thermal screening of materials can be achieved by techniques such as differential scanning calorimetry  (DSC) and  accelerating rate calorimetry (ARC). More detailed, low thermal inertia, adiabatic experiments can be performed in the Advanced Reactive System Screening Tool (ARSST) and the Vent Sizing Package (VSP) and the data thus obtained used in calculations to determine adequate relief systems. The Thermal Activity Monitor (TAM) can be used to provide very sensitive isothermal calorimetry data and the ChemiSens  reaction calorimeter with its unique “real” heat flow measuring principle is capable of providing heat flow and reaction heat data on your chemical transformations thus allowing safe design, optimisation and scale up of your processes.

In addition to the above we are able to offer you a full range of flammability and dust explosivity testing services. Critical information on your materials such as Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE) and St Class can be obtained along with many other key safety parameters enabling you to design procedures for the safe handling of your products and processes.

Please explore these web pages to see the full range of testing services we can offer and feel free to contact us using the details in the contacts section if you wish to discuss how you can engage our testing services to help solve your problems and keep you operating safely.
